As per the following requirements, teams will have the opportunity to design construct and produce most efficient concrete cricket bat and applying for real time application. Teams will take part in a race to hit balls to the boundary. The best gross score will achieve this competition.

Construction rules for the bat

Each team will create a concrete bat as shown in the following figure:
  • The dimensions of the bat (length, width and thickness) should be strictly in accordance with the ICC rules.

  • Any kind of reinforcement may be used, but the concrete bat with the minimum weight will win the competition.

  • No external coatings such as paint, tapes of any kind are permitted on the concrete bat. Only mark the college name on the middle of the concrete bat.

  • 3 cubes (15cmx15cmx15cm) cast with the same mix design of the bat have to be brought by the participants along with the bat for the compression strength test.

  • Each team will have to bring at least 12-page report during the competition. The report must describe the construction mix-design and the strength design to make the bat.

  • In the report, the teams are asked to mention the weight of concrete and the weight of steel used in the concrete bat

 

Note

  • The above construction rules must be strictly followed by the team or else the team will be disqualified.

  • A team consists of two members.

  • Only two teams are allowed to participate from the same college.

  • Each team will have to play cricket using their concrete bat to hit a Vicky cricket ball to a maximum of 6 times.

  • If the bat loses its structural strength at the time of playing cricket, the judge will stop the game.

  • Helmets, gloves and batting pads are to be brought by the participants and will not be provided by the host college.
